Repeat Visitors

Many marketing sites advise you to add lots of interesting content, articles, and interactive elements to your site in order to get people to bookmark and come back again and again.Very often this advice is written from the perspective of a web site that earns revenue from banner advertising impressions. From these sites' perspective, the value of this advice is clear: more visitors, including repeat visitors, means more advertising impressions, and therefore more revenue.

However if your site generates revenue by sales, the situation is much more debatable. If you sell a single product (or just a few products), work on techniques to increase repeat visits could even counterproductive: as more content can make your sales message less clear, and less effective.

If you do decide to that you want encourage repeat visits, then it may be an idea to design your site so you get some tangible benefit from them, such as paid advertising or the ability to earn banner exchange credits.
